Choir Welcomes New Member Stephen Bowen to the Baritones

As part of its interaction with the local community, the choir held an informal singing session at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Magor on 27th June. Unknown to the choristers inside, Stephen Bowen was enjoying a drink in the evening sunshine outside.

Stephen was so impressed by what he heard that after a brief conversation with the choir’s Public Relations Officer he took up the offer to come along to the choir hall to have a listen.

The Choir was thrilled to hear that on his visit he immediately took a voice test and joined the ranks of the baritones which a few short months later culminated in him passing the second voice test.

Assisted by Darren Lloyd and assessed by musical director Sian Hatton he immaculately sang ‘Pan F’or Nos yn Hir’ on 16th September. A week later he was presented with a personalised certificate and tie by the choir chairman Graham Hughes to commemorate his achievement on becoming a full member of the choir.

If you live in the Caldicot area, come along to the choir hall in Mill Lane near the Leisure Centre on any Monday or Thursday evening.
