A busy month for the choir, 2 nights of the annual concert at the begining of the month and the Royal Albert Hall at the end of the month.

We started the month with a St David’s day concert in Redwick, there was a Royal Albert Hall practice, and unfortunately we had the funeral of Chorister Harry Giblin.

February 2024

A couple of trips this month, Welling Garden City for a concert at Tesco, and Lamboure for a prior choristers son’s funeral.

January 2024

The Choir Hall had a much needed lick of paint, we welcomed Olivia Dance as our new accompanist, and the choir returned to Catbrook after a 6 year break.

A busy Christmas season, the annual choir pantomime, a children’s Christmas party and concert, and singing at 3 pubs.

2018

The Choir sang at the Royal Albert Hall.

2010

The Choir recorded it’s album “One Moment In Time” along with a cruise on the P&O ship Azura.

2008

The Choir recorded it’s album “The Dream Lives On” and embarked on its’ first cruise on the P&O ship Oriana.

2003

The Choir sand for Her Majesty the Queen outside of Buckingham Palace.

1998

The Choir recorded it’s album “The Dream Alive”.

1996

The Choir sang at the Three Tenors concert at Webley Stadium, applauded by the Prime Minister, John Major, and complimented by Messrs Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras.  This is the year it completed and opened it’s own Choir Hall in Mill Lane, Caldicot.

1994

The Choir sang for HRH The Duckess of York at The Stackpole Centre, Pembroke.

1993

The Choir recorded it’s album “Memory”.

1992

Through the generosity of the then Gwent County Council and Monmouthshire Borough Council, the Choir acquired land adjacent to the Caldicot Leisure Centre.

1991

The Choir recorded it’s album “The Long Day Closes”.

1988

Sian Hatton took over as Musical Director.

1985

The Choir recorded it’s album “Cor Meibion Caldicot” and embarked on a tour of the USA.

1981

The Choir record their album An Enchanted Evening.

1978

The Choir records their first album, Voices of Severnside.

1974

The Choir competed in the National Eisteddford in Carmarthen but didn’t win.

1973

Upheaval in the Choir when the conductor resigned, John Evans, one of the bottom basses, stepped in temporarily until Richard Morgans, one of the baritones, was appointed to take over permanently.

1972

The Choir had its first organised trip to Manchester to perform a concert, and again won first prize at the Kington Eisteddfod, 3 years in a row.

1971

Another win at the Kington Eisteddfod with the Choir appearing in it’s new uniform of black blaze, grey trousers and white shirt.

1969

The Choir took part in it’s first Eisteddfod singing “An Evening’s Pastoral”.

1968

The Choir performed its first annual concert at Green Lane School where the choir also held their rehersals.

1963

The Choir was founded in 1963 with its origins traced back to the steelworks at Llanwern.  It was originally called “The Caldicot and District Male Voice Choir”.
