Following Caldicot Male Voice Choir’s Annual Concert on Friday 11th April the Choir applauded that Magor resident and bass chorister Gareth Thomas was presented with a certificate and silver lapel badge by chairman Graham Hughes to commemorate and recognise his significant achievement of 25 years continuous service as a member of the choir.
Former committee member Gareth is remarkably the 40th recipient of this award since the choir was formed in 1963. It must also be recognised that in that time 6 members of the choir have served over 50 years with the choir and that four are still serving; bass John Evans, baritone David Gould, baritone Peter Heslop and top tenor Bob Doggett.
The achievement of these long service awards reflects the loyalty and dedication of all choir members over the years while partaking in a wonderful hobby enjoyed by all who have sung in the choir even if only for a short time.
If you would like to learn more about the choir, please pop into the choir hall in Mill Lane on any Monday or Thursday evening practice. You will be made very welcome and there is no obligation or pressure to join.
