Choir Sings at Celtic Manor Wedding

On 27th July, Caldicot Male Voice Choir was pleased to be invited to sing at the wedding of Rhian Gritten to Gareth Miller on the beautiful Rooftop Garden Terrace of the Celtic Manor Resort.  Rhian who originally hails from Dartford in Kent met Gareth in February 2022 and said yes to Gareth’s proposal in September 2023.

Conducted by Sian Hatton and Shirley Anne James and accompanied by John Nicholson, the choir entertained the 80 waiting guests seated on the terrace by opening appropriately with Yfory (Tomorrow), This is the Moment, from the musical ‘Jeckyl and Hyde’ and You’ll Never Walk Alone from ‘Carousel’. Luckily the rain held off during the ceremony to be followed by glorious sunshine.

As the bride walked down the aisle the choir sang the Everly Brothers hit, Let it be Me with perfect timing as the bride arrived to meet her waiting future husband and Love Changes Everything from the musical ‘Aspects of Love’ was sung while the register was signed.

Progressing back along the aisle as man and wife, the choir accompanied their progress with the Bob Dylan song ‘Make you feel My Love’ with chorister Nigel Keen playing a magical flute solo.

Following the civil ceremony the choir gave a rendering of the ever popular hymn ‘Calon Lan’ with David Gould singing the solo second verse and finalised with the Welsh National Anthem Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau.

The choir wishes the bride and groom all good wishes for a future happy and loving life together.

The next public appearance of the choir is at the Yemeni Wales Festival at Pill Harrier’s Rugby ground in Newport on August 11th at 2pm. Be there for a fabulous fun day out for all the family.
