Caldicot Male Voice Choir is always thrilled to welcome visitors from all over the world to its choir hall, the latest being Hans and Michelle Doorewaard from Nijmegen in the Netherlands on the 16th May. They were spending some time with chorister Andy Friedman an ex work colleague and close friend who brought them along to practice after spending some time in Cardiff, visiting the Newport wetlands and walking along the shores of the Severn estuary at Portskewett.
Following their visit Hans was inspired to write the following:
‘It was amazing to hear them sing!
We were so impressed by the professional and high-standard way of mastering a new song by the choir members. Then, after the break, we felt like a king and queen when the choir sang a number of songs that they had planned to sing the next day during a concert near London. Such a high quality, not only in a technical sense, but also in their ability to convey the emotional content of the song to the audience.
Hats off to all of you, choir members, pianist and conductors!
Thank you so much for having us at the choir hall. We wish you all success and lots of pleasure when you sing together. We do hope to see you again in the near future during one of your upcoming tours.
Who knows? Maybe in the Netherlands?’
You never know and you’re welcome at the Choir Hall at any time.
