New Chorister Stephen Hawkes presented with 2nd voice test certificate

Stephen presented with certificate by chairman Spike

In challenging times, the prophets of doom and gloom have been posting the demise of Male Voice Choirs in recent months but this is not so at most choirs, including Caldicot Male Voice Choir where in the past six months seven choristers have passed the second voice test to become very welcome full members of the choir.

The most recent of these is bass chorister Stephen Hawkes who was presented with a certificate commemorating this achievement by chairman Graham Hughes on 19th June at practice. He now follows new choristers Nick Dance, Owen Johnson, Paul Light, Matthew Johns, Adrian Hallworth and Wayne Phillips as new members of the choir in recent months.

If like these men, you would like to take part in a new, challenging hobby please come along to the choir hall in Mill Lane Caldicot on any Monday or Thursday evening practice from 7-00pm. There’s no obligation and you would be made very welcome.

The choir also has a vacancy for a piano accompanist so if you feel you can meet this need please e-mail Ken Cooper at secretary@caldicotmalevoicechoir.co.uk who would be delighted to hear from you.
