Choristers Present Cheque to Ready, Steady, Go Charity

During 2022 the choristers of Caldicot Male Voice Choir, through its associated Cycle Club and Golf Society raised £2260 to support Ready, Steady, Go, a charity based in Undy to help families and children with autism syndrome with advice, support, activities and days out.

Several fund raising activities were organised by chorister Tony Griffiths, supported by fellow choristers including, not least ‘moustache growing (or shaving)’, a Quiz night (Jayne Stallard), virtual cycling, walking and running events, several raffles, a sponsored Golf Day at Waun ddu and even a hilarious pantomime at the Christmas party (Ron Powell and others including sales of a DVD made on the night).

The photographs show a presentation made to the committee of a cheque on January 30th at the Choir Hall. Included in the photo, presenting the cheque are choristers Ron Powell, chairman Graham Hughes and Tony Griffiths. Members of the Ready Steady Go committee representing the charity are Tracy Rowland, Cathryn Duke, Melanie Stirling and Chrystal Durnford who were treated to a short concert by the choir conducted by Shirley-Anne James and accompanied by John Nicholson

Over the past 10 years choristers and their supporters have raised over £53,000 to help both local and National charities despite a 2 year year absence due to Covid restrictions.
