Always on the lookout for new members to join Caldicot Male Voice Choir, it was delighted that at the first practice of the year on January 5th, two young(ish) men walked into the choir hall and sat down to listen to us practice.
Not put off by our efforts both friends Paul Light and Matthew Johns went into the back room during the break to be assessed by Musical Director Sian at a very short and easy voice test.
The Choristers were thrilled that both emerged to the announcement that they were both very welcome Top Tenors.
After the break both joined the Top Tenor ranks to immediately start practicing. Later, both expressed what a fabulous experience this was and that they both thoroughly enjoyed it. Paul is on the left facing and Matthew is on the right in the photo. Great to see smiling faces, lads.
It may seem a daunting experience to walk into a choir practice but it is, as Paul and Matthew showed, quite easy and enjoyable, even just to listen. No commitment is necessary so why not pop along to your local choir and find out if it’s a hobby you might enjoy.
