Choristers practice for the Royal Albert Halll

Sunday 9th October showed a return to practice at St Julian’s High School in Newport for many choirs that are going to the Royal Albert Hall in 2024 including Caldicot Male Voice Choir.

Covid restrictions had prevented the choristers from practicing for two years and led to the return to the Royal Albert Hall to take part in the Festival of Male Choirs being delayed until April 2024.

Choristers from several choirs across South Wales and one from Dursley in Gloucestershire were put through their paces for Soldier’s Chorus, Kwmbayah, Rock a my Soul and Speed Your journey by conductor Arwel Humphreys.

About 800 choristers will take part in the Festival and we know that Caldicot will form one of the larger contingents as it did on its last visit in 2018 prior to performing at Buckingham Palace for the now King Charles III.
