Birdie Boys play at Wern Ddu

Caldicot Male Voice Choir’s fund raising efforts this year are directed towards Ready, Steady, Go, a charity based in Undy which supports local children with autism syndrome and their families.

Organised by chorister Anthony Griffiths, with help from Alyn Dawe, Ron Powell and Dave Gould on Saturday 20th August, 15 choristers and 14 guests, including a ladies team took part in a sponsored Golf Day at the Wern Ddu golf course to raise funds for the charity. The event raised a total of £390 on the day bringing the total raised to £1276 so far this year for Ready, Steady Go. The winning team was the Bournemouth Ghosts of Alyn and Jason Dawe, Tony Howells and Steve Davies.

Further events are planned including a Quiz night later in the year.

Ove the past ten years similar events, organised by Caldicot Male Voice Choir have raised over £50000 for local and national charities including the Welsh Air Ambulance Service, MNDA, the Sepsis Trust (Wales), Prostate Cymru, Sparkle and the victims of Chernobyl Children’s Trust.
