Caldicot Male Voice Choir is unique in that not only is it arguably one of Wales’ leading male voice choirs but it also helps to promote well-being and fitness through its cycle club, golf society, running and walking clubs which hold regular events.
It is not often that a male voice choir is shown on a national TV programme but on 29th July the Choir and its associated cycle club were featured on ITV Wales Coast and Country programme hosted by Sean Fletcher. Sean interviewed choristers Tony Griffiths, Alyn Dawe from the cycle club and Lyn Gauntlett and musical director Sian Hatton who gave various descriptions of what it means to be in a male voice choir with the choir singing in the background.
Filmed by TV cameraman James Harries, the programme showed stunning drone footage of the choir cycling around the magnificent Caldicot Castle as well as coverage of the choristers singing Rachie, Y Darlun and African Prayer at the Choir Hall.
