Those who were at the choir hall last Saturday evening to celebrate the return of the cycle club and its friends from their epic ride were impressed with the visit and performance of some of the Serenata Ladies Choir who came to entertain us. They certainly did! The choir committee has invited them to join us for our Gala concert in 2016 and we are thrilled that they have accepted.
Serenata are about 45 members strong and practice in Magor and we hope you will give them well deserved support at their future concerts. Of course, if you are a lady interested in joining a choir (sorry, you can’t join ours) why not give Rhiannon a ring.

Serenata Ladies Choir.
Serenata Ladies Choir was founded nearly 3 years ago after a chance meeting (in the gym), between Fiona Bryant, a Peripatetic Music Teacher with Gwent Music, and Rhiannon, our Chairperson. Rhiannon wanted to join a choir and stopped to ask Fiona if she knew of any ladies choirs in the area. Fiona foolishly replied that she didn’t but had always wanted to run a ladies choir, so that was it, Rhiannon wasn’t letting her go! Our first rehearsal was in a local school and we had about 10 ladies there, we are now up to about 45 (on a good day) and are starting to make our mark in the local community. We sing for fun, and for many of us it’s the highlight of our week. We have just had our first Annual Summer Concert, where we raised £550 for Velindre Cancer Centre.
