It wasn’t so long ago that Dylan (pronounced Die-lan) Balgobin walked into the Choir Hall to listen to us and immediately joined in by passing his first voice test. Experienced chorister and singer in various roles, Dylan soon settled in as a top tenor and on Monday 5th January he elected to go into the back room with Siân to demonstrate his prowess by bravely singing the South African National Anthem, Nkosi Sikele i’ Afrika. ‘It was the only one I knew’ said Dylan.
By passing this simple test, Dylan will be given his number one uniform and is entitled to wear the choir’s blazer, badge and tie. He is also qualified to sing with us in concerts, but the down side is he will have to pay the monthly subscription, sorry – but it’s not much. We are sure that Dylan, with his experience will be an asset to the choir and we wish him a long and happy association with us.
