David Scott Reaches Birthday Milestone

Q36a

It was announced at practice that this Saturday 17th January, David Scott reaches his eightieth birthday.

Known variously as Davey, sometimes Dai, he moved from Scotland to South Wales some forty odd years ago and has stayed ever since.  Still retaining most of his Scottish brogue and a fellow Celt proud of his Scottish roots, he is nevertheless considered by all of us to be an adopted Welshman.  2nd Bass Davy thinks he joined the choir in 1966 more than an incredible 47 years ago but is still undecided on whether he likes it or not.  I’m not sure if Davy can play the bagpipes but I was told he was once a mean harmonica player, a regular Larry Adler.

Davey is one of our most popular choristers in the choir and despite his recent poor health we are all glad to see him at practice twice a week and at many concerts.  Long may it continue Davy and have a very happy birthday, but not too much of the hard stuff!
