Following on from it successful Anniversary and Gala Concerts during the choir’s 50th Anniversary celebrations last year, Caldicot Male Voice Choir is proud to hold its 51st Annual Concert at the Leisure Centre, Mill Lane, Caldicot on 12th April at 7-00pm Tickets are £8 and doors are open from 6-30pm. As a result of its successes both musically and socially last year the choir is delighted that its numbers have increased by 15 to 80 members. There will be about 70 on stage at the forthcoming event. For those who have never heard a male voice choir of this size sing, it will be an unforgettable experience. In times of reportedly diminishing numbers within Male Voice Choirs, don’t miss this concert! The Choir will also be introducing several new numbers to the evening’s programme. Tickets may be available at the door, but don’t take the risk, phone 01291 422005 to book yours.
The choir is always keen to introduce a different dimension to its concerts and to promote the careers of promising young musicians. Following the success of the Rossini woodwind quintet at our Gala Concert last year, we are pleased to introduce London based, The Camilli String Quartet, a group of highly talented musicians who are delighting audiences throughout South East England. They will be playing a blend of not only classical music, but extracts from the worlds of folk and film. We are confident it will be a real treat from these four talented young ladies.
I’ve selected three photographs of these delightful and talented musicians. Their names are Nandita Bhatia and Erin Smith, violinists, South Wales born Elin Parry, Viola and Olivia Clayton with the cello. All four regularly play in prestigious orchestras and ensembles throughout the country, have toured extensively both home and abroad and have also performed under the tutelage of many eminent musical specialists. Please visit their web site to learn more about these talented ladies and listen to some of their music. It’s special. Click on the link “The Camilli String Quartet” to find out more.
Better still, ring up Alan Pearce on 01291 422005, book your ticket and come and listen to some remarkable music by both Caldicot Male Voice Choir’s seventy voices and The Camilli String Quartet. Where else can you get all this for just £8?
