With all the frenetic activity revolving around our 50th Annual Concert, which is a sell out by the way, we tend to forget that members of the choir are still carrying on with charitable fund raising efforts of their own.
Baritone Rob Brown is this year, taking on two challenges; firstly he is running, not for the first time, THE LONDON MARATHON on April 21st and as if not satisfied with this, he will be taking on the Lon Las Cycle Challenge from 23rd to 28th May. This is a ride of 254 miles from Holyhead to Cardiff over 5 days.
Why is he doing this, masochistic or what? Perhaps? No, he is raising money, with a target of £2000 for the Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre, Wales based in Whitchurch, Cardiff that provides specialist care for children suffering from cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is caused by brain damage and is incurable, but the Bobath charity aims to provide a positive difference, through physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy to the lives of suffering children throughout Wales.
Rob has already raised a magnificent £1500 but let’s not be complacent. Please click on the link Rob Brown Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre, Wales to find out more and to make a donation to help Rob exceed his target and provide much needed funds for this deserving charity. You can, of course see Rob personally at any choir practice at the choir hall on Monday or Thursday evenings or give a donation to any chorister who will see that it gets to Rob. Please give generously.
