Caldicot Male Voice Choir will stage its’ 49th Annual Concert at the Caldicot Leisure Centre, in Mill Lane, Caldicot on Saturday14th April, 2012.
The programme of music for the evening will provide a contrasting amalgam of light and shade. The Choir will take its’ audience on a melodious journey with a varied rendition of international songs from several continents. The musical odyssey will blend the American ‘Wild West’, as the Choir power through T. Maldwyn Price’s ‘Crossing the Plain’ with the haunting Zulu melodies of ‘African Trilogy’ and Elton John’s ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ from the Disney musical ‘The Lion King’.
There will be a varied selection of modern and traditional music, including two classic, Freddie Mercury written, ‘Queen’ anthems all interwoven with the resounding power of some of the finest Welsh hymn tunes. The audience will be guided through the concert by ever popular BBC Radio Wales presenter, Chris Needs MBE., who has delighted the Choir by accepting an invitation to act as Compere for the evening. The Guest Artist on the night will be Huw Euron. Multi-talented Huw is an award winning Bass/Baritone, who has twice been successful at the National Eisteddfod. He is also instantly recognisable as the character ‘Darren’ from S4C’s Pobl Y Cwm, a role he played with distinction between 1999 and 2009 and for which he received a BAFTA Cymru ‘Best Actor’ award, in 2005.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £8 and may be purchased in advance, details are available by clicking on “CONTACTS“ although it may be possible to pay at the door but please arrive early, for a special evening of entertainment. Doors open at 6:30pm and the concert starts at 7:00pm.
