New Members

To maintain the on-going success of Caldicot Male Voice Choir, it is vital that the number of Choristers is maintained. Consequently, we are always happy to welcome new members, of all ages and singing ability.

Remember, if you enjoy singing quietly to yourself, then you will enjoy singing in a choir. You will make new friends that will last a lifetime, feel more connected with the wider Caldicot community and benefit from a much busier ‘social’ life. It is a fair assumption that many men, briefly, consider joining a male voice choir but then do nothing about it. In fact, most of the boys in Caldicot Choir would tell you that they wish that they had joined the choir ten or fifteen years earlier! You should also be assured that you do not have to be able to sing like an angel; the only requirement is an ability to blend your voice in with the other voices in the choir. Almost everyone can sing. Many men claim that they cannot sing because they have tried to sing notes that are not in their vocal register, usually at a wedding when they’ve been stood next to a natural soprano in full flight! Don’t worry, at Caldicot Male Voice Choir, you’ll be placed in a singing section that best suits your voice.

Please come along and listen to the choir practicing at The Choir Hall in Mill Lane, any Monday or Thursday night, between 7:15 and 9:15, all you have to do is sit and listen. In order to find the singing section best suited to your voice all you have to do is sing a simple piano scale in a private room (the sort of thing you did in Junior School), and you’ll walk out of the hall as a new member of Caldicot Male Voice Choir.
