From ‘The Libretto’ – April 2011
This years Annual concert was again well turned out with Sian making comments on the way we sang the following songs, ‘Tydi A Rhoddaist’, ‘The Crusaders’, ‘The Lords Prayer’ and ‘O Gymru’ (sang with Rhys Mierion). “The hairs on the back of my neck stood up” was the response from one member of the audience when we sang ‘Calm is the Sea’.
I thought Rhys was outstanding in both his singing and the way interacted with the audience. I can still picture Sian sat at the piano with a cigarette and a bottle of some South American spirit on the piano.
A big well done to the musical team for the outstanding contributions they gave on the night. This goes to show how lucky we are at Caldicot to have a dedicated musical team, also a big thank you to the choir we had over 70 choristers on stage.
Special thanks also to Mrs Worwood & Mrs Kirton for the beautiful flower arrangements and to all the women who helped on the doors with ticket sales, programmes and Raffle tickets.
It is also nice to see Richard Evans back on the mend after his accident at the concert.
