








Caldicot Male Voice Choir was honoured to be invited by the Caldicot and District branch of the Royal British Legion and the Town Council to attend the Sundown Remembrance Service at the Caldicot Memorial Cross at 4pm on Sunday 9th November.
Despite the pouring rain throughout, the service was attended by stalwart members of the Royal British Legion, the Police, Member of Parliament for Monmouthshire, Catherine Fookes MP, Senedd member for Newport East John Griffiths SM, the Chairman of Monmouthshire County Council Peter Strong and the Mayor of Caldicot, Maxine Mitchell together with many members of the public and other organisations.
Following the dedications, a two minute silence, prayers and the laying of wreaths, the attendees and the choir, conducted by chorister Alyn Dawe sang both God Save the King and Hen Wlad fy Nhadau before the Blessing and playing of the Last Post.
‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest we forget’
