Caldicot Male Voice Choir has a proud tradition of raising funds for deserving causes. In addition to its concert fund raising the Choir’s associated cycle and golf clubs held a series of events, including an Endurance ride around Redwick, a 65 mile cycle ride from Hay on Wye to Caldicot, a Golf tournament at the St Pierre Resort and a Table top sale to raise a staggering £5245 for the South East Wales Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The cheque was presented to Tannwen Saunders, local representative of the Association by choir members on 28th March during a break in rehearsals at the Choir Hall including Anthony Griffiths, Chris Nolan, Grahame Morton, chairman Mark Stocker and president Michael Shere-Massey.
Tannwen is quoted as saying the association is extremely grateful to all the choristers for all their tremendous efforts and the money will be used to support the needs of local people in South-east Wales suffering from this dreadful disease.
This year the Choir is supporting The Severn View Open Doors project in Chepstow, in association with Dementia UK, to provide funds to help provide a garden to be used by sufferers of dementia.
