Choir to sing at Proclamation of the Eisteddfod

The National Eisteddfod is to be held in Monmouthshire at Abergavenny from 29th July to 6th August in 2016 and the Proclamation of this has to be announced one year in advance.  This year the Eisteddfod Proclamation Ceremony is to take place at Caldicot Castle on 27th June, starting in the town centre at 10-am.

The choir is honoured and thrilled that it has been invited among others in the area to sing for about fifteen minutes in Caldicot town centre prior to the Civic ceremony.  We will sing a selection of our favourite Welsh hymns and songs which is sure to delight everyone who listens to us. This will be followed by a procession of the Bards and representatives of local organisations through the town to the temporary site of the Gorsedd Circle in Caldicot Castle.  The Proclamation will be read at 3-00pm.

This is a unique and prestigious event for the town and a great colourful occasion and we hope everyone will come together on the day to take part in it.
