At our Annual Concert this year, Dr Haydn James came along to listen to us. So impressed was he, that it was announced last Monday that on behalf of the Welsh Rugby Union, he invited us to sing, along with two other choirs to the 72,000 crowd before the kick off of the Wales v South Africa game on November 29th.
This is a fabulous honour and privilege for the Choir and we are, of course delighted to accept. It does mean that we’ll have to learn a few new numbers including the South African National Anthem in Afrikaans. No problem, lads.
We’re really looking forward to putting out our largest choir and to singing in such an iconic symbol of Wales. Who knows, we may inspire Welsh team to a rare win over the Springboks . Please, if only by one point in the last minute! So close last time!
Thank you Dr James, we really appreciate it and we’re really looking forward to working with you!
Footnote:
Wales won 9-3. According to Haydn James we sang the South African anthem too well.
