The choir was surprised and delighted last night to see two new faces at the front of practice. Who were they was the whisper going around? It turns out that both Gary Smith, introduced by chorister Spencer Dowse, and Scott Davies, introduced by chorister John Antell, wanted to see what we were like. So impressed were they that they both asked to do their first voice test with Siân during the break. This test is a simple one for Siân to assess which part of the choir would suit them.
We are pleased to say that Gary emerged from the back room to be placed in the 2nd tenors and Scott sat down with the baritones. Scott, from Caldicot had come along a few years ago but work commitments prevented him from joining us then and Gary, Youth coach at Caldicot Rugby club has considered joining the choir for a long time, and a change in the training night at the Rugby club means he can now come to practices. A very warm welcome to you both and we hope you have a long a enjoyable time with us.
Last year twelve new members swelled our ranks and this year we are off to a flying start with another two! This takes our singing membership to 81! We must be doing something right!
