As part of its commitment to help raise money for our chosen charity, Prostate Cymru the Choir’s cycle club has a programme of events lined up. The first of these was a table top sale on Sunday 19th January. We are pleased to say that from Table top hire and other generous contributions our target of raising £300 for the charity was exceeded.
If you would like to help us in our efforts to fight prostate cancer, please click on to “Just Giving” and follow the link at the top of the page to make a donation, no matter how small would be very welcome..
Some 60 tables were laden to overflowing by unwanted stuff that had been lying in attics for years, cakes and pasties, pies and Welsh cakes were produced and bric-a-brac of all sorts was on display. No hidden Van Gogh’s or Rembrandt’s though. Sadly we lacked a few customers in the afternoon, but this was our first attempt after all. Nevertheless most tables made a small profit and comments received was that it was very well organised in a fabulous venue. Please do it again was the overwhelming response. We would like to thank all those who came to the sale to help our chosen charity for this year and we hope to see you again.
Thanks must go to the Cycle Club committee, particularly Tony Griffiths and Leon Jones, to hall managers for the day, John Jenkins and the ever present Theo Roberts who did an amazing job of organising people and goods to the right tables and last but not least, Dai Kirton for supplying teas, coffees and other refreshments. Maybe a few lessons to be learned but all in all a very successful day. Watch this space. As an added bonus we may have succeeded in recruiting some new members to the Choir and the Cycle Club.
