Cornish Celebration

As part of the choir’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, a tour of Cornwall was undertaken, based in St. Ives and with concerts in Penzance and the Cornish capital, Truro.

A selection of snaps taken during the week.

The first concert was at the Methodist Church in Penzance, being hosted by the Mousehole Male Voice Choir who gave a great performance. The finale saw Mousehole MVC and Caldicot MVC join together for Speed Your Journey and Morte Christie.

There was number of day trips arranged; a shopping day to Truro, the excellent trip to the Isles of Scilly and the Eden Project. Various members of the group also indulged in other activities including a couple of golf days at Tregenna Castle, an excellent par 3 course, many people sampling the local delicacies of pasties and fish and trips. There were a number of private trips to places like Falmouth and Mousehole. One particular privilege was to watch Mousehole MVC sing on the quay of their own village entertaining hundreds of tourists and locals.

Truro Methodist Church hosted the final concert with Caldicot MVC sharing the stage with the Mabe Ladies Choir. A very good audience witnessed Welsh singing at its best with the choir finishing the show to a rapturous applause with Somebody To Love.
