Welsh Rugby Team Follow in Choir’s Footsteps

Following the Wales Rugby Team’s magnificent success in beating France and so achieve their third Grand Slam in just eight years, the Wales’ Government provided a civic reception at the Senedd in Cardiff yesterday evening.  A huge crowd gathered on the slate steps of the Senedd building to give a fully deserved cheer and welcome to ‘our boys’.  In these depressed times it’s brilliant to have something cheerful to brighten up these gloomy days.

One was heard to say that it is a great honour to be treated in this way and was totally unexpected to have this reception.  But what thrills the team most and gives us the greatest pleasure is to know that less than three weeks ago, Caldicot Male Voice Choir was standing in this very spot.  Just to know that we’re standing in that fabulous choir’s footsteps.  Awesome or what!  Wait till my Mam sees this! I’ll treasure this moment for the rest of my life!  Where exactly was Lyn standing when he took that photo?

In my dreams!  But then again, at the start of the season who’d have dreamed of a third Grand Slam.  Bring on Australia!

Also congratulations to Newport County AFC – they’re on their way to Wembley for the first time ever, to play York City in the final of the FA Trophy!  Good luck lads, and bring the trophy home.

Now that you’re all in a good mood, why not celebrate by coming along to our Annual Concert on April 14th!
