The Choir make the short trip to Llanishen, Monmouthshire, on Thursday, 21st July, 2011, to sing in the Village Hall in a concert to raise funds for the charity ‘Help For Heroes’. All the proceeds from this concert will be used to support wounded Servicemen and women. The Choir support local and national charities, performing concerts free of charge and on this occasion will meet their own transport costs to maximise the funding to be raised on the night. The concert starts at 7.30 pm. in the ‘state of the art’ Village Hall which was opened in 2004, replacing an old corrugated-iron building which had served Llanishen and it’s community, as a focal point and venue, since 1923.
The ‘Help For Heroes’ charity was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October, 2007. It has the support of the Army Benevolent Fund and the Ministry of Defence.
The following is taken from their website http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk and describes what they are all about:

Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. We ask our supporters to “do their bit” to show these extraordinary young men and women that they are cared for by us. Over a million people have responded to date and millions of pounds have been raised to buy much needed services that will aid their recovery, but we need more! So far, we have allocated almost all of the money we have raised in order to fund direct projects and support other service charities. We are passionate about what we are doing and as far as we are concerned the sooner we can see results, the better!
The Choir hope that a large financial windfall will be generated on the night, for this worthy cause. Please come along and show your support for our brave Servicemen and women. Tickets will be available on the door.
