Right On Your Doorstep

From ‘The Libretto’ – July 2010

Sometimes you never realise what is on your doorstep. Having sung at Dewstow Gardens the other night I was taken aback by the beautiful gardens and scenery. Before the concert I had a chance to walk around the gardens and visit the caves. The borders of shrubs and bushes were well maintained and a feast of colour. The trees were magnificent and serene growing out of well manicured lawns. The caves were spooky, yet enchanting with the pools lit by loghts and also natural light. There were pools and fountains and different themed gardens all over the place. You can also get refreshments at the café and a chance to sit and take in the beauty and tranquility of the gardens. I for one enjoyed my first experience of singing outside and having such a glorious setting to sing in made it that little bit more special. I also thought that the female artist gave a brilliant performance especially as it was her debut performance. One downside was, we were still a little shy on numbers.
