Yes, we have fun in other ways as well!
Social events, golf, cycling and even a little dancing, social drinking and impromptu singing. Keep an eye out for the posters.
Choir organised Social events at the Choir Hall in 2011 included the Race night, a Valentine’s Discotheque, an evening with Pixie Perez, Red Mick, an outstanding tribute to Simply Red followed by a hugely entertaining evening with Owen Money and the Soul Sharks and our New Year’s Eve celebrations with Musicians in Black.
The Hall is ideally suited to holding Social events such as Wedding receptions and Birthday parties. It has a stage system which will support discotheque and group equipment and also has an extensive bar with its own staff (by prior arrangement).

In 2012, a charity evening to support the Victims of Chernobyl Childrens Trust charity with our very own JJR Trio recently raised £1300 and following the amazing Barry Hammett’s Swingshift Band in May (who returned on New Year’s Eve), we offered a TOM JONES TRIBUTE NIGHT in September.
Following the Queen tribute night, Richard Evans once again organised a fantastic RACE NIGHT thoroughly enjoyed by all. For those who like a bit of a flutter and a lot of fun this was a night to remember. Sadly this was Richard’s last Race Night and he was presented with a bronze statuette to commemorate his tremendous contribution to the choir by organising these events for the past 18 years.
When Barry Hammett’s Swingshift Band returned for New Year’s Eve, the Hall was packed to capacity and evreyone had a fabulous evening. Probably the most well attended and thoroughly enjoyable evening for many years. Look out for them again! Barry Hammett’s Swingshift band has in fact appeared again at the New Year’s dance at the end of 2016.
In 2013, our 50th Anniversary year included a RACE NIGHT on March 22nd which, organised by Ron Powell turned out to be another fabulous evening, full of fun. Ron continues to organise fabulous Race Nights but these have now been moved to November to avoid clashes with other events. An Anniversary Party on April 14th was open to everyone. On July 20th a Black Tie dinner dance was held. New Years Eve was a fantastic night with the Richard Harris Quartet.
Other events have twice included a Beatles Tribute Band, greatly enjoyed by all.

The choir has, within its membership an active Golf section which arrange several trips and competitions around the country (see the links under the Social page) and a newly formed cycle club which enjoyed considerable success on the Taff Trail on August 19th 2012.
