It is with very much sadness that the Choir has reluctantly withdrawn from the planned concert in support of the Llantwit Major and Cowbridge Lions at St Illtud’s Church on Saturday 13th October.
This action was taken following recent reports from the organisers that ticket sales were poor and unlikely to meet the choir’s costs in going to this event. This meant that the charity would indeed have lost funds. We appreciate the difficulties that the Lions must have had in the current economic climate and the choir has offered to provide them with a concert next year when we hope things will improve. We wish Llantwit Major and Cowbridge Lions every success in their future fund raising activities and repeat that we deeply regret having had to make this very rare decision. We hope that those who had purchased tickets and were looking forward to hearing us, will understand the position we were unfortunately and reluctantly placed.
The choir members are also disappointed because we understand from other male voice choirs that this is a wonderful venue in which to perform and we were looking forward to entertaining a substantial audience.
