The last week of October 2025 saw two presentations at the choir hall to new members who had just passed their second voice test to become full members of Caldicot Male Voice Choir.
The first was to baritone Csaba Hahn who passed his test by singing ‘Safwn yn y Bwlch’ to Shirley Anne James remarkably without a copy and was on Monday 27th October presented with his choir tie and certificate by Musical Director Sian Hatton and Chairman Leon Jones. Csaba had previously sung in choirs both in Hungary, his country of origin and recently Bristol. However unable to make all rehearsals at Bristol due to work commitments he joined Caldicot Male Voice Choir and is loving every minute of it.
The second presentation of the week was to second tenor Lee Darknell on Thursday 30th October. Lee had passed his second voice test by singing ‘Only You’ to Musical Director Sian Hatton and was presented with his tie and certificate by Chairman Leon Jones. Lee has lived all his life in the Chepstow and Caldicot areas and has been a keen supporter of the choir for many years. He finally decided, like so many others to join the choir and wished he had done so many years earlier.
The choir welcomes both to its ranks and wishes both a long and happy association with a great hobby.
