Choir sings for Swansea University Technical Sports Department at 33rd Annual Conference

On the 6th of September, on a hot, sultry evening the choir made the short journey to the Marriott St Pierre Golf Resort, once home of the British Golf Open, at the invitation of the Applied Sports Technology, Exercise and Medicine Department of the University of Swansea.

Attended by delegates from six continents at its 33rd International Conference to discuss Paediatric Health throughout the World, the University was also keen to show the attendees aspects of Welsh culture. Prior to the singing delegates were presented with Marie Curie daffodils by two youngsters dressed in Welsh football attire and hats.

Conducted by Shirley Anne James and accompanied at very short notice by Olivia Dance the choir presented an opening of three songs, ‘Rachie’, ’16 Tons’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ prior to the buffet dinner.

The entertainment continued through the introductory drink and following buffet with several choral presentations including ‘Llef’, ‘Gwahoddiad’, ‘This is the Moment’, ‘African Prayer’, ‘Cwm Rhondda’, ‘World in Union’ before finalising with ‘Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau’ much to the delight of many of the audience.
