Caldicot Male Voice Choir is a successful, thriving choir but to maintain this we are constantly on the look-out for new members. Could you be one of our new recruits? You would be made very welcome.

Don’t miss out!  If you enjoy singing quietly to yourself, then you will enjoy singing in a choir. You will make new friends that will last a lifetime, feel more connected with the wider Caldicot community and benefit from a much busier ‘social’ life.  There are also claims that singing can make you healthier and live longer!  It is a fair assumption that many men, briefly, consider joining a male voice choir but then do nothing about it. Most of the boys in Caldicot Choir would tell you that they wish that they had joined ten or fifteen years earlier!  In the last three years alone we’ve been joined by twenty five new choristers, so why not join them?  Don’t leave it till it’s too late.

You don’t need to sing like an angel; you only need to be able to blend your voice in with the others and you’ll soon learn that.  Almost everyone can sing and if you do enjoy it, you’ll learn how to sing even better!

Many men claim that they cannot sing because they have tried to reach notes that are not in their range, perhaps at a wedding when they’ve been stood next to a natural soprano in full flight!  Don’t worry, at Caldicot Male Voice Choir, you’ll be placed in a singing section that best suits your voice.

Please come along and listen to the choir at The Choir Hall in Mill Lane, any Monday or Thursday night, between 7:15 and 9:15 when you will be made very welcome by a friendly bunch and you’ll enjoy it.  All you have to do is sit and listen.  Only when you are ready and if you want to join us, to find the singing section best suited to your voice all that’s needed is to sing a simple piano scale in a private room (the sort of thing you maybe did in Junior School) and you’ll walk out of the hall as a new member of Caldicot Male Voice Choir. If you feel it’s not for you, then we hope you enjoyed the experience, thank you for taking an interest in us and we hope to see you again.

The choir also has a busy Social life with many events organised at our splendid Choir Hall throughout the year.  There is also an active Golf section for all levels and we also have an active Cycle Club, to which anyone can join (male or female) and you don’t have to join the choir. 1. I was saddened to hear of the passing away of Owen Howells. Owen was a small man in stature but a giant in the bottom bass section. always a great help to New members in the section and was always note perfect . He was a gentleman with an infectious smile and laugh. He was so proud when his grandson Craig joined the choir making it 3 generations of the same family in the choir ( the other being Tony his son).
As a bottom bass I will miss him greatly, he helped me so much when I started and was an inspiration to me.

Our thoughts are with all his family at this sad time.
    Mark Stocker and Denise
