LONG SERVICE AWARDS

 

At a special evening at the Choir Hall on the 8th October 2010 the following choristers were each presented with a silver framed certificate and lapel badge by

John Griffiths AM, Welsh Assembly Member for Newport East and Siân Hatton, the Choir’s Musical Director

 to gratefully acknowledge and commemorate at least 25 years continuous service with Caldicot Male Voice Choir.

 

Colin Jones, Roy Shuck, Doug King, Gordon Shotton, Jack Virgo, Larry Lynch, Vince Lewis, Owen Howells,

Roland Bennett, Tom Hole, David Chown, David Scott, Bob Doggett, David Gould, Leon Jones, Bill Nash,

Ken Gibbs, Peter Heslop, John Evans, Eddie Davies, Malcolm Reed, Aldwyn Caswell, Roy Jones, Jack Williams

 

At the Annual Concert on 9th April 2011,

Granville Sherborn

was also presented with a silver framed certificate and lapel badge by John Griffiths AM and Siân Hatton to gratefully acknowledge and commemorate his 25 years continuous service.

 At the 50th Anniversary Concert on April 13th 2013,

the following were each awarded a silver framed certificate and a blazer lapel badge, presented by John Griffiths AM,  Welsh Assembly Minister for Culture and Sport and Musical Director Siân Hatton for completing 25 years continuous service.

Alan Pearce, John Jenkins, Alyn Dawe, Jason Dawe, Theo Roberts, Mervyn Roberts.

was also presented with a silver framed certificate and a commemorative choir badge pendant for completing 25 years continuous service.

 

Second tenor, Colin Jones

was awarded a special gold framed certificate and a commemorative treble clef tie pin to mark his achievement of 50 years continuous service with the Choir.

 

At the 51st Annual Concert on April 12th 2014,

Terry Plummer was awarded a silver framed certificate and a blazer lapel badge, by John Griffiths AM,  Welsh Assembly Minister for Culture and Sport and Musical Director Siân Hatton

for completing 25 years continuous service.

Bill Nash and John Callow were each presented with A Lifetime Achievement Award and conferred as Honorary Vice-Presidents in ‘Grateful Recognition of their Outstanding Contribution and Long Service to the Traditions and Values of Welsh Male Voice Choirs’.

At a Special Ceremony at The Wentwood Inn, Llanfair Discoed on 27th November 2014,  Kenneth Gibbs was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award and conferred as an Honorary Vice President in ‘Grateful Recognition of his Outstanding Contribution and Long Service to the Traditions and Values of Welsh Male Voice Choirs’.

At the 53rd Annual Concert on April 9th 2016

Following the Annual Concert the following awards were made by John Griffiths AM and Musical Director Siân Hatton.

John Evans was presented with a certificate and solid gold bass clef badge to commemorate his 50 years continuous service.  David Kirton was presented with  a certificate and a silver lapel badge to mark his 25 years of continuous service.

Choristers Doug King and David Scott and retired President Richard Evans were each presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award and conferred as Honorary Vice-Presidents in ‘Grateful Recognition of their Outstanding Contribution and Long Service to the Traditions and Values of Welsh Male Voice Choirs’.

IN MEMORIAM

 

It is with great sadness to announce that since the presentation of their 25 year service awards, the following choristers have passed away:-

David Chown, Roy Shuck, Jack Williams, Eddie Davies, Owen Howells, Jack Virgo, Kenneth Gibbs, Theo Roberts, Roland Bennett and Malcolm Reed

They are greatly missed.
